Canyon Park, a neighborhood within the Bothell city limits, has approximately 4,709 residents and is considered to be a “very livable” neighborhood according to AreaVibes. The website gave the area an “A+” score for local amenities, a “B+” for crime and a “B”for education. The only downside was a grade of “F” for the cost of living since it 12% higher than the average of Washington state. Walkscore.com gave the neighborhood a Walk Score of 37 making it the 4th most walkable neighborhood in Bothell.
Canyon Park is surrounded by familiar chain restaurants like Red Robin, Applebees, Outback Steakhouse and local chains like Ivar’s Seafood Bar and The Rock Wood Fired Kitchen. Restaurants worth noting include Lombardi’s Italian (19409 Bothell Everett Hwy, Bothell 98012) which features a wine bar and patio seating during the warmer days and a warm, comfortable setting indoors during the colder months), the simple yet elegant Russell’s Restaurant & Loft (3305 Monte Villa Pkwy, Bothell 98021) which serves Pacific Northwest styled food in a converted barn with a cathedral ceiling and Viva Jalisco Mexican (1715 228th St. SE, Bothell 98021) which is a cozy spot that ranks high in terms of quality of their enchiladas, fajitas and margaritas.
Not too far away is the Snoqualmie Ice Creamery and Fountain (21106 86th Ave. S.E., Snohomish, 98296) which churns out over 50 different ice cream, 15 frozen custard, 9 gelatos and over 45 sorbets. They also pride themselves for using as many local ingredients as possible.
Just down the road is the unique shopping center called Country Village (23718 Bothell Everett Hwy. Bothell 98021) which offers a variety of one-of-a-kind home décor shops, gift shops, antiques and restaurants all set in a “country village” complete with duck ponds, bird baths and other outdoor settings. The shopping center features over 45 locally-owned shops and restaurants plus a Farmer’s Market.
The neighborhood is also close to the 6.3 mile-long North Creek Trail that features a river, is accessible year-round, and is good for walking, trail running, and road biking. Local parks include Cedar Grove Park (22421 9th Ave SE, Bothell 98021) which offers amenities like a children’s playground, basketball court, sports field, a wetland boardwalk, picnic tables, barbecue grills and a large picnic shelter for large groups. Centennial Park (1130 - 208th ST SE. Bothell 98021) features wetlands and trails, an open green space, the historical North Creek Schoolhouse rental space and a smaller picnic shelter. The area is also near the AMC Lowes Woodinville 12 movie theater (17640 Garden Way NE, Woodinville, WA 98072) and the Passing Time Winery (18808 142nd Ave. NE #2b, Woodinville 98072).
Three schools are located within the Canyon Park neighborhood and are part of the Northshore School District. All have received fairly good marks according to GreatSchools.com. Canyon Park Jr. High School (23723 23 Ave. SE, Bothell, 98021) holds an overall rating of 8 out of 10 scoring higher for test scores (8) which are above the state average but lower for student progress (4). Skyview Junior High School (21404 35th Ave. SE, Bothell 98021) is similar with an overall score of 9 out of 10 (9 out of 10 for test scores and 7 out of 10 for student progress) and Crystal Springs Elementary School (21615 9th Ave. SE, Bothell, 98021) holds an overall rating of 8 out of 10. It holds a 7 out of 10 rating for student progress.
