For The Love Of The Theatre
While Seattle is known for its many and award-winning theatres, the greater Bothell and Kirkland neighborhoods also have a few performance places worth checking out. Some shows are presented by local theatre groups while others are touring groups, but many are worth venturing out in the rain to get to.
Created by local residents from Bothell, Kenmore, Mill Creek and Woodinville, the Northshore Performing Arts Center Foundation offers Northshore-are residents top-notch performances within a 600-seat theatre located on the campus of Bothell High School. Current and past performances have included the “One-Man Star Wars Trilogy” (a spoof of “Star Wars” told by one actor), “Capitol Step” (a parody play about our current political system), “The Simon and Garfunkel Story” (a tribute to the classic music group) and “The Nutcracker” ballet performances.
Located in the heart of Kirkland sits the Kirkland Performance Center, a 397-seat theatre with seating that is steep which gives the theatre an intimate feel to it but also allowing plenty of leg room for comfort. Many acts and shows come to perform here, but it is also home to a few local and unique theatre troupes as well. These include:
