Thanks to everyone who came out for the Wine and Chocolate event at Des Voigne Cellars in Woodinville on Sunday. The proceeds went to support the Children's Country Home, an eight-bed nonprofit home that provides 24-hour skilled nursing care to medically fragile children:

The event featured a Chocolate Tasting Bar provided by the Chocolate Man from Lake Forest Park, as well as a delicious cheese spread courtesy of the Cheese Monger's Table in Edmonds.

Des Voigne Cellars had a great tasting menu that included:

2013 Groove Wine: a refreshing blend of Chardonnay, Marsanne, Rousanne, and Viognier. Cri[ and dry, filled with flavors of Fuji apple, pears, and white peach.

2013 San Remo: 100% Sangiovese from the Candy Mountain Vineyard. Pairs well with anything, classically tangy with cherry, red raspberry and spices.

2012 Duke: 95% Zinfandel from Walla Wall with a 5% Malbec from the Wahluke Slop. Dark and lush with a velvety mouth feel, loaded with flavors and blackberry, black cherry and a peppery finish.

2010 Montreaux Syrah: Weinbau Vineyard Syrah with just a splash of Dionysus Cabernet Sauvignon. Dark and inky in color, deep aromas of violet, toffee, and olives giving way to flavors of black cherries, cedar, and peppercorn.

A wonderful combination of wine, chocolate, and cheese as well as a fantastic guitar player that impressed with his acoustic tunes. A wonderful night had by all.

By the way, Des Voigne Cellars is located near the heart of Woodinville's wine country, where home values are skyrocketing. If you want to know the price of your home, put in your address and get an instant home valuation, you'd be surprised how high your home has appreciated in recent months.
